Proverbios Para Ninos

Taste and See A Family Devotional Series 1st and 2nd Corinthians

All Christian families want to know God better. This daily devotional and inspirational book will give you the opportunity to nourish the spiritual lives of everyone in your family. It reviews the letters written by Paul to the church at Corinth (1st and 2nd Corinthians) while focusing on many important themes of the Bible. Like all churches, there were problems in the church at Corinth and Paul discussed these issues in the letters. Carefully selected scripture verses will teach an abundance of biblical wisdom to your family.

Because of raising four children, my wife and I are aware of the hustle and bustle of family living and the difficulties in keeping everyone’s attention. That is why I have kept these devotions to the point so they can be accomplished in 10 minutes. Mealtimes (or before or after) often work as a time to come together as a family unit. The key is to be intentional in your meeting time.

Each devotion starts with a Chapter from 1st or 2nd Corinthians for you and your family to read. Next is a QUESTION with an answer provided. The questions are to help develop Bible knowledge. In the Old Testament book Hosea 4:6, God warns that “His people would be destroyed by a lack of knowledge.” The following KEYPOINT is a summary and practical discussion on the topic covered by the verses. Third, a PRAYER is included which focuses on the theme of each devotion. The prayers have an attitude of gratitude to God which is much needed in today’s times. Teach your children the importance of prayer with this devotional.

Wisdom from the Word

This book is much more than a concordance. It is a compilation of key notes from three decades of Bible study by a Bible study teacher. Wonderfully categorized, there are over 700 useful topics carefully selected for practical application in today's world. You will find this a handy reference along side your Bible for study and teaching. Robert has been a Christian believer for over 50 years and has “sat at the feet” of numerous wonderful teaching pastors over the last several decades. He has taught Bible studies for over three decades.

"I've had the privilege to preach the Word for over forty years and to counsel numerous people. Dr. Robert Gullbergs’ Wisdom from the Word is an accurate, comprehensive, and useful tool for any type of Bible study- personal devotions, life group, class, or sermon preparation. It is also a valuable tool for Biblical counseling.” - Pastor Jerry Worsham, former Senior Pastor, Grace Church, Racine Wisconsin, and graduate of Wheaton College, MA in Biblical Studies; as well as Loyola University, MA in Counseling Psychology in Marriage and Family.

“Dr. Robert Gullberg has created a tremendous resource. Clear, concise, and easy to navigate. Wisdom from the Word is a welcome addition to my library and an excellent tool for any student of God's Word.” -Dr. Rusty Hayes, Sr. Pastor, and MA graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, Doctor of Divinity from Trinity International University.
"Wisdom from the Wordis a wonderful, practical and valuable resource for everyone who wants to study God's Word! Dr. Gullberg is an outstanding and devoted student of the Bible, having gleaned much wisdom from his daily personal study of God's Word over many decades." - Rev. John Schindler of John Schindler Ministries, Stevensville, MI, and graduate of Trinity International University, Master of Divinity.

Principles for the Christian Life

Principles for the Christian Life- Bible Study Edition is a wonderful, practical and valuable resource for everyone who wants to study God's Word! Dr. Gullberg is a devoted student of the Bible, having gleaned much wisdom from his daily personal study of God's Word over many decades. Why write a book like this? Quite simple. To educate the Christian with a “bottom line” format. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed by a lack of knowledge.” In Colossians 1:10, Paul prayed that the Colossians would “live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, growing in knowledge of the Lord, being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that they would have great endurance and patience…” These two verses, as examples, tell it like it is! Knowledge is the key ingredient to wisdom. This book is meant for deep personal or group Bible study and should be excellent for discussion of practical topics. Though provoking questions are in each section. Part 1 of this book is to simply implement the verses present in the Scripture to direct us on important Christian subjects. It is more than a concordance, which one can find at the end of most any Bible. What one will find in PART 1 are the steering points of the wisdom from the Bible. The topics in PART 1 are the “nuts and bolts” of Christianity. My goal was to keep this book to a “bottom line” level of understanding. Part 2 looks at what is going on in the rest of the world of non-Christendom. In day to day living, I find that most Christians are at best vaguely familiar regarding where other people are coming from in their belief systems. 85% of the people in the world are following other religions. This knowledge should be an impetus for us to not only take a stronger stance on our Christian roots but also be more active in our outreach to the lost. The lost are literally all over the place! They are in India, but also in your neighborhood.

Whispers That Move Heaven Powerful Life Lessons on Prayer

Sincere or fervent prayer comes with being intentional. It is not for the nominal Christian. The key is to shed our laziness and not neglect our prayer life with the Lord. Though the Lord desires us to always pray in our lives, having a specific prayer time day by day will have a powerful effect.

Jesus said, “the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41) I would add to that not only is the flesh weak, but the mind drifts when it needs to focus. To be honest, prayer is a daily battle for us mortal weaklings. This book helps to remedy that problem by how it is formatted.

The term effective and prayer should go together. Effective means to “pursue a desired result.” I have found that a journal style helps us to be more attentive in our prayers, and God will be praised. We will be filled with joy knowing that our minds are being transformed and becoming more God-centered. We will learn to sit with God and enjoy his fellowship. (Ephesians 2:6) We will renew our prayer life to a time we simply cannot miss.

Why a ‘workbook-journal’ style? Because this method teaches you to focus on God with laser-like intention. For example, you will catalogue your prayers on the pages of the workbook. I have found that writing down prayers helps the mind from wandering away from God during a quiet time. Look at King David, who lived 3,000 years ago. Many of the Psalms he authored in the Old Testament are prayers that were sung to God. David was a prayer champion, and he wrote down his prayers for us to learn how to be intimate with God. Would you not want to follow him?

This workbook encourages the use of pictures. Adding pictures of special people placed in the book is key. Visualizing our loved ones or important events helps our minds to concentrate on the prayers at hand. No more mental roaming away from what we set out to do.

With this book, you will be more aware of answered prayers as well as unanswered prayers. Your persistent prayer petitions will increase in number, and you will find yourself turning into a prayer warrior. What joy and delight that will be.

The fact that an infinite God who created the universe and finite creations like us can interact together is indeed a mystery. But prayer does not have to be mysterious. God desires and instructs us to pray. Jesus taught us to pray in Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4, and there are hundreds of prayers for us to emulate throughout the Bible. Several will be discussed later in this workbook.

The battle that prevents us from praying is real. Let us take it to heart, not give up, and move forward. Zechariah 4:6 says, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty.”

Since your life is a series of chapters, going forward, you may need to have several prayer books like this one along the way.

I sat down in a local restaurant with my fellow Christian brothers, Jack Bell and Chris Booth, many years ago to map out (on a simple napkin) the vision for a book on prayer. Our strategy was clear: to encourage and equip Christians everywhere to pray more consistently, passionately, and effectively. This finished book is the fruit of that humble meeting. My heartfelt prayer is that it will inspire, strengthen, and bless you richly.

Life Lessons on Stress, Burnout, and Worry (When you are feeling overloaded)

Stress affects you in different ways every day. Nobody is immune to it. It does not matter what walk of life you are in... stress is there in good times and bad. For instance, your life might be rolling along just fine when you get married and are pregnant with your first child, but then your baby is born four weeks premature with a congenital heart defect and a three-month hospitalization (not to mention that as a parent, you realize that you’re suddenly responsible for the life of another precious human being) … and life becomes stressful. Or your 10- year-old son falls out a tree and breaks his arm…and you worry. Or maybe you are on a stroll in your neighborhood when a stray dog bites you and an infection sets in. Ouch! You will miss two weeks of work…worry sets in. Or you have been happily married for forty years when your spouse suddenly develops Alzheimer’s dementia changing your relationship forever…and anxiety and exhaustion set in.

The list of problems that can affect your life goes on and on and on. And these types of stresses are just the “tip of the iceberg” in terms of the hundreds of ways you can experience both mental and physical stress.

Though I am not a psychiatrist, I have been a practicing adult physician and have cared for thousands of patients for over 30 years. Every day I see the daily mental and physical obstacles people face in their lives.

God has answers for your problems that will change your life for the better and help to transform you, body, mind, and spirit. He may direct you to healthcare professionals, a new diet, exercise, medication, or therapy to aid you in your journey to wellness. Your journey of good health begins with him.

How Paganism and Easy Believism have Infiltrated the Christian Church

When Jesus walked the lands of Israel 2000 years ago, his primary opponents came from the leading religious leaders of his day, the Sadducees, and the Pharisees. Should it surprise us that history is repeating itself, and that the modern-day Christian church struggles in the errors of the religious educated? It shouldn’t. We have added traditions onto God’s will for his church from the first century, and the church of New Testament Acts. As an active church goer for over 50 years, I keep wondering if I am the only one who notices the adulteration of the church today with secularism. Many church traditions are pagan in origin. Paganism is secularism; meaning without God. Note that just because we use some traditions based on paganism doesn’t make us pagans, but it can creep in and compromise us. “Easy believism” or “easier-to-believism” is prevalent in today’s Christian church movement. It endeavors to make Christianity and the Gospel “palatable” to the American population (by the pragmatic, new or “neo-evangelism”). The pastors of many thousands of Christian churches are typically dedicated people of faith and integrity. However, beware- the “new evangelism” philosophy which some espouse may lead to shallow conversions to Christianity. Many “easier-to-believers” think they are Christians, but they were possibly never “saved” in the first place. They “become” Christians and then they place the “pursuit of holiness” on the back burner.

Growing in Faith

Growing in Faith is a practical and valuable resource for everyone who wants to study God's Word! Dr. Gullberg is a devoted student of the Bible, having gleaned much wisdom from his daily personal study of God's Word over many decades. Written in a workbook style, it will help you in your personal walk with God. This book is meant for deep personal or group Bible study and should be excellent for discussion of many key topics. Thought provoking questions are in each section. The topics in this book are the “nuts and bolts” of Christianity. My goal was to keep this book to a “bottom line” level of understanding.

Champions of Faith Stories that Inspire and Endure

The Christian faith has been shaped by many heroes across the centuries. As a physician, I have deeply admired missionary doctors like Paul Brand, Paul Carlson, and Hudson Taylor, who faithfully served in India, Africa, and China. During my own years of medical training, I was blessed with the opportunity to work alongside Symon Satow, M.D. and other dedicated missionary doctors and nurses in Herbertpur, India—an experience that profoundly marked and inspired my life.
This book journeys through the lives of 28 remarkable examples of the Christian faith taken from Hebrews Chapter 11, the great FAITH chapter. By reflecting on their examples, you will find fresh fuel to ignite your passion for a deeper and more fruitful walk of following Christ. Each story will offer timeless lessons of courage, obedience, and trust in God. As you engage with their lives, may you be inspired to live boldly for his glory in your own generation.
A hero is not defined by superpowers, capes, or an untouchable image, but by courage forged in the fire of adversity, sacrifice in the face of fear, and an unshakable commitment to something greater than themselves. True heroes step into chaos when others step back, fueled not by fame but by an inner compass that points toward justice, compassion, and hope.
The vast majority of us are not heroes. We look up to heroes because they remind us of the best possible version of humanity—they prove that ordinary people can rise to extraordinary heights, turning frailty into strength and doubt into daring. Their stories ignite something within us, a spark that whispers, “You, too, can be brave.”

Toxic Remedy A Novel

Toxic Remedy is a high-stakes medical thriller that begins in the chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic and expands into a global conspiracy of bioterrorism, corruption, and moral reckoning. Exhausted Chicago infectious-disease physician Dr. Caleb Rourke fights viral waves while quietly noticing a second threat—electronic medical record failures that hint at sabotage. Unbeknownst to him, powerful international actors have already weaponized both disease and data. A Chinese lab leak, cyberattacks on hospital systems, and a shadowy organization called the Civics Pathway Institute (CPI) converge into a coordinated assault on truth, medicine, and human life.

Caleb’s world shatters when his wife, Claire—a skilled nurse practitioner with expertise in tularemia and other infections—is abducted after a peaceful day sailing on Lake Geneva. Forensics link her kidnapping to Caleb’s classified research on an engineered bacterial strain known as 47-B. As the FBI investigates, Caleb uncovers ties between Claire’s disappearance, a fraudulent charity that steals his parents’ retirement savings, and CPI’s vast global syndicate—an empire masking bioweapons development, drug trafficking, AI-driven crime, and political corruption behind philanthropy and influence.

When official channels stall and corruption infects even federal investigators, Caleb breaks the rules and assembles a quiet resistance: trusted colleagues, microbiologists, journalists, and a Marine-SWAT ally. What follows is a disciplined campaign of calculated, nonlethal bioretaliation. CPI leaders—from traffickers to biotech executives to a U.S. senator—are systematically incapacitated through precisely engineered toxin exposures. Each strike weakens the syndicate but deepens Caleb’s internal conflict. Justice begins to blur with vengeance.

Meanwhile, Claire endures captivity inside a Moscow microbiology institute, forming a fragile alliance with her guard, Ludmila, and secretly transmitting encrypted messages. When proof of her survival reaches Caleb, hope reignites. Under the cover of a scientific symposium, Caleb and his team infiltrate Moscow, execute a meticulously planned extraction, and escape through Belarus in a tense, drone-shadowed flight to safety.

In the aftermath, a compromised FBI agent reveals the surviving network and a looming directive that suggests CPI’s ideology persists. Yet Caleb and Claire ultimately reject wrath as identity. Back home in Chicago, they anonymously expose CPI and its partner EHS, triggering federal raids and public reckoning. Toxic Remedy explores power, bioethics, faith, and the corrosive cost of revenge—asking whether healing the world requires becoming what you fight, or choosing mercy when justice tempts the soul.

75 Nasty Infections You never want to get and that I see daily A Pictorial Guide

Welcome to my world! When people think of bugs, they probably think of bedbugs, lice, or fire ants. My world of bugs is much bigger—it includes the microscopic world. You cannot see these organisms, but these invisible bugs to the naked eye do a world of damage. Once you see into this world, you will see how microbes simply line-up and ponce on an individual and take their “pound of flesh.” As an Infectious Disease specialist for over three decades, I have had a front-row seat to countless wretched and gut-wrenching diseases and have seen the misery they impart on their victims. Fortunately, many microbes are part of the normal flora of the human body (they stand by and watch), or it would be much worse. When bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi are in their right place, they do not cause problems.

I have worked in many nooks and crannies of the world, so I have had the opportunity to see some nasty culprits. I have seen leprosy in India, African sleeping sickness in the Republic of Zaire, elephantiasis in Honduras, tuberculosis in Haiti, and scabies in the Dominican Republic, and a multitude of other nasty infections.

Microbes are foreign invaders which can assault the human body by many mechanisms. In my practice, I have seen the extent of damage these germs and what their vile poisons can do to people. That is what this book is about. In this pictorial text, you will see what I see when I go to work each day.

This book is for those who want to gain insight into the world of infectious diseases and achieve a better understanding of the notion that “bugs rule, and far too often, take no prisoners.”

During my career, I have learned how to diagnose and treat these body invaders quickly with the help of science and medications. Unfortunately, sometimes these virulent infections are impossible to stomp out.

Throughout human history, certain types of super bugs that are invisible to the naked eye have revealed their awesome power and ability to kill people, sometimes in only a matter of days. The sheer power and brutality associated with these vermin is unimaginable.

So, come along with me on this journey to discover the power of BUGS, and see why they truly RULE. I have personally seen 68 of these 75 infections on hospital rounds or outpatient clinic in my career.

Welcome to my world!

Famous people and the germs that harmed them

With the advent of the COVID epidemic, today's readers want to know what microbes, epidemics, and pandemics have profoundly affected people and civilizations throughout history. This book marries together history, culture, science, medicine and famous people and looks at each of them through the lens of infectious disease. Let me ask you: What do King Tut, Jack Nicklaus, William Shakespeare, Helen Keller, Anne Frank and Abraham Lincoln have in common? You likely didn’t know they were all harmed by a serious infection. As you read through this fascinating book, you will be stunned by the power of invisible microorganisms and how they have inflicted pain throughout history. As an Infectious Disease specialist for over three decades, I have had a front-row seat to countless wretched and gut-wrenching diseases and have seen the misery they impart on their victims. This book will also take a close look at just what makes these body-snatching microbial organisms tick. How do they invade us without being detected? What kinds of poisons do they generate? How do they interact with our immune systems? How do they use other creatures such as arthropods to be the “middle-man” in disease? How do they kill the human body? Believe me, every living organism that is pathogenic (having the ability to invade) has its own special license to kill. They have an impressive arsenal of poisonous weapons, beyond the likes of James Bond, I can assure you. So, come along with me on this journey to discover the power of BUGS, and see why they truly RULE the world. Though we continue to develop better weapons to overcome them, as stealth-invading microbial pathogens, they are a force with which to be reckoned. Novel Coronavirus-19 is a present example, and as of this writing, it sweeps across the globe with ease, leaving a wake of turmoil. Thanks to public health and the availability of vaccines, our civilization is not near extinction, but there’s much more work to be done.

These concepts captivate the imagination and help kids understand important truths in a language they can understand. What's more is both kids and adults who listen to to them will enjoy these informative books. The books are especially good for kids between 5 and 11 years of age.

This particular volume in the series shows how God uses 25 Earthly Creatures to help explain foundational spiritual truths. As we look at common things around the house, we see God teach us his wisdom. The three other books in this series are about Parts of the Human Body, Things Around the House, and Things in Nature.

Each of the four books in the series contain Teachable Truths and the Take Home Points to explain the proverb(s) in more detail. There are Other Key Verses from the Bible to reinforce the point of the proverb. Many of these verses of scripture serve as great memory verses! The Conclusion at the end of each topic reinforces the main point of the Proverb to make memorable teaching. The four books in the Proverbs for Kids series are easy to navigate with enlarged pictures that accompany the associated Proverbs.

The Proverbs for Kids book series coupled with the time you invest reading to your kids or grandchildren will engrain Biblical wisdom they can draw on for the rest of their lives! God is the greatest storyteller, and throughout the Bible he uses creative and inspiring ways to help us learn Biblical truths. He often uses the "things of this world" such as clouds, the sun, oceans, darkness, deserts, light, the wind, water, earthly creatures, parts of the human body, and everyday things around the house (to name a few!) to teach us eternal truths.

In the Old Testament, God teaches us his timeless wisdom from the Book of Proverbs.

The Lake Effect The Joy of Lake Living

For the millions of lake enthusiasts out there as well as future lake enthusiasts, I know you will relish this book. While the primary focus will be the beautiful Lake Geneva, nestled in the rolling hills and fertile farmland of southeastern Wisconsin, The Lake Effect is about the beauty and allure of lake living and all it has to offer. I will take you through the rich history of Lake Geneva and the treasure trove of beautiful memories it holds for me and my family who lived there for 26 years, and my hope is that it will trigger some beautiful memories of your own lake experience as well as some which may well be on your horizon. You will enjoy reading this book whether you are curious about lakes or have already feasted on lake living. If you want to know more about how spending time around lakes provides an escape from the hustle and bustle and busyness of life, or a enchanting destination during a slow or ho-hum season of your life, read on! Our planet is brimming with inland lakes that dot the landscape everywhere. There are an estimated 117 million of them spread throughout the seven continents – from pond-size to gigantic. For example, Alaska has about three million unnamed lakes, many considered too small to name, while the beautiful and mammoth Lake Baikal in Russia contains over one-fifth of the earth’s fresh water supply! With the exception of Maryland, all 50 states are populated with at least one natural lake. Minnesota (with a license plate that claims “10,000 lakes”) has the second highest total with about 15,291 natural lakes, most of them named, and Wisconsin has the third-highest number of lakes with 15,074, many of which may be just "ponds." Michigan also has an abundance of lakes, totaling around 11,000. There are so many beautiful lakes in the Midwest and beyond! But whether your favorite is Higgins Lake in Michigan, Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, Lake Ontario or one of the other five Great Lakes, the famed Lake Tahoe straddling Nevada and California, Lake Winnisquam in New Hampshire, the Finger Lakes in upstate New York, or Lake Mead in Arizona/Nevada, lakes carry a beauty and charm that engenders positive feelings and memories.

Hope for the Bogey Golfer A SYSTEM to Improve your Game

The strategic plan of action for golf called S.Y.S.T.E.M. will help your driving, long irons, short irons, short game, putting, and the mental game. You see, golf is really five games in one. That’s what makes it so tough. Most bogey golfers never put all five pieces of the puzzle together during their round. On one day, your putting is seemingly consistent, but your bunker play “stinks.” Your iron play is just “O.K.”, but your driving was “right down the middle.” The next week, you sliced two of your drives OB, but your iron play and short game “saved you.” Candidly, you need to have a strategy for each part. A system to help you improve, and then you will have more fun playing this game. Guaranteed.S.Y.S.T.E.M. will remove some of the frustration out of your game. It will help you make golf a “fun walk” rather than a “good walk spoiled,” as novelist Harvey Wilson quipped in 1905. You’ll have fun improving if you use the eight S.Y.S.T.E.M. keys that are detailed in this book. Having fun while you’re playing comes from scoring better. If only one or two wonderful shots during a round bring the weekend golfer back for more golf the following week, you will be ecstatic after applying S.Y.S.T.E.M. to your game. S.Y.S.T.E.M. will help you with your all-around game and shave off some shots from your scorecard.

Armageddon rising

Why Read Armageddon Rising?
We live in a world filled with uncertainty. Wars rage between nations. Economic instability shakes governments and families. Moral values seem to shift with every generation. Technology advances at breathtaking speed while anxiety, confusion, and fear continue to grow. Many people wonder where the world is headed and whether history has any ultimate purpose.

Armageddon Rising was written to answer those questions through the lens of Scripture.

For thousands of years, the Bible has declared that history is not random. The same God who created the heavens and the earth has also revealed the future. Bible prophecy provides a roadmap that helps us understand not only where the world has been, but where it is going. In a time when many voices compete for our attention, God's Word remains the only source that accurately explains the past, interprets the present, and reveals the future.

This book is designed to make the often-complex subject of Bible prophecy understandable for everyday readers. Rather than becoming lost in endless debates and speculation, you will discover the major events that God has revealed concerning the end times. Topics such as the Rapture, the Tribulation, the Antichrist, Armageddon, the Millennium, the judgments of God, and the New Heaven and New Earth are explained in a clear and practical manner.

More importantly, this book is not merely about future events. It is about Jesus Christ. Bible prophecy ultimately points to the return of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The purpose of studying prophecy is not to produce fear but faith, not anxiety but assurance, not confusion but confidence. God wants his people to know that he remains in complete control of history.

Throughout these pages you will discover that every fulfilled prophecy strengthens our confidence in those prophecies yet to come. The God who kept his promises concerning the first coming of Christ will certainly keep his promises concerning the second coming of Christ.

Whether you are a new believer, a mature Christian, a Bible study leader, or simply someone curious about what the Bible says concerning the future, this book will help you understand God's unfolding plan for the world.

The final chapters of human history have already been written. Evil will not triumph. Satan will not prevail. Jesus Christ will return. God's kingdom will come. And for those who know Him, the best is yet to come.

Welcome to Armageddon Rising.

Principles for the Christian Life Bible Study Edition

Ordinary is Enough How Heaven Uses Everyday Lives to Change the World

Are you feeling ordinary? Or inadequate or useless? Don’t worry—you’re in good company. Most people who have quietly changed the world never saw themselves as remarkable. They were teachers, parents, workers, teenagers, neighbors—people with doubts, limits, and everyday lives. Yet God delights in using ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary purposes. That's what this book is about.
Your life matters deeply to God, and it also touches more people than you realize. A kind word, a faithful step, a simple act of courage can ripple far beyond today. You are not overlooked or accidental. You are known, loved, and usable. This book is an invitation to believe that your everyday life can become a channel for God’s remarkable work.
God has always delighted in using humble people to accomplish his extraordinary purposes. From Genesis to Revelation to today, his story has never been about perfect saints, but about flawed men and women woven together by divine grace. Fishermen, farmers, prostitutes, servants, and shepherds; widows, wanderers, and warriors—each was chosen not for power, but for willingness. God never needed the polished; he has always chosen the available.
That same pattern continued through the centuries. For example, in the 1400s, voices like Joan of Arc and John Hus stood for faith against corruption. The 1500s birthed reformers like Martin Luther and William Tyndale, who brought the Word of God to the world. The 1600s saw preachers and writers like John Bunyan and George Fox spark spiritual renewal.
In the 1700s, revivalists like John Wesley and George Whitefield reignited hearts for Christ. The 1800s overflowed with missionaries and reformers—D.L. Moody, Sojourner Truth, and George Müller—who changed nations through prayer and passion.
The 1900s carried that fire forward through Billy Graham, Corrie ten Boom, and Mother Teresa, proving faith still transforms the modern world. And now, in the 2000s, God continues to use faithful believers—teachers, doctors, parents, athletes, and missionaries—people like Nick Vujicic and Christine Caine—to shine his light in a dark and digital age.
From Jacob the deceiver to Ruth the foreign widow, from David the shepherd boy to Mary Magdalene the redeemed outcast, Scripture proclaims a single truth: God can use anyone who says yes. The Bible is filled with common people through whom he revealed his extraordinary strength—people whose failures became fuel for his glory and whose weakness became his greatest stage.
In the second part of the book, we explore twenty-four lives from the Bible that prove a timeless truth: God calls willing hearts to do the extraordinary. Behind every act of courage lies humility. Behind every victory stands surrender. And behind every great name is a greater God.
You may think you’re too simple, too flawed, or too forgotten. But in God’s hands, the common becomes sacred. The question is not whether he can use you—it’s whether you’ll let him.

Know What The Future Holds A Study of Revelation

In this book, Dr. Gullberg gives concise and clear explanations of the book of Revelation that will be easy for you to follow as you read along with your Bible. Numerous Old Testament references are noted. In 22 short sections, he has streamlined the study of eschatology; the study of end times events that have yet to occur in our human timetable. Enjoy the sobering journey! Dr. Gullberg has been fascinated in future world events ever since reading “The Late Great Planet Earth” by Hal Lindsey in the mid-1970s. At that time, Lindsey asked the question, “Do we live in the era of the antichrist (and End Times) as foretold by Moses and Jesus Christ?” It has become clear to the author that the prophetic Book of Revelation is avoided by many Christians for study. Why? Simply stated-- it is a real faith tester. The amount of symbolism and allegory (hidden meaning) can leave room for one’s imagination. That is why many Christians do not pursue the study of this prophetic last book in the New Testament. I implore you to be different! Explore Revelation by reading this companion book which simplifies End Times events for you.

He Listens When You Speak Developing Intimacy with God Through Daily Prayer

All Christians who are sincere in their faith want to get to know God better day by day. To know God better does not happen without a regular, private time spent in an intimate interface with the Lord through prayer. Jesus said, “the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41) I would add to that not only is the flesh weak, but the mind drifts when it needs to focus. This unique book on prayer helps to remedy that problem by how it is formatted. It is different than any other prayer book and is divided into four sections.

The first section contains thirty-five Bible studies on prayer to ignite your prayer time. The second section is teaching on the Lord's Prayer, but it is interactive. It is in this section that you will be able to develop a strategy for daily prayer and even use pictures to keep you mind focused. The third section contains four fervent prayers found in the Bible to help you learn how to pray. Finally, the fourth section contains hundreds of sincere prayers to God from the book of Psalms.

It is my hope that your heart will be enriched and encouraged by this book's approach to your prayer life.

Faith the door hinge of life

Faith, The Door Hinge of Life is a deeply personal and inspiring Christian book that explores one of the most important forces in human existence—faith. Just as a door hinge supports and allows a door to open and function properly, faith is the hinge upon which life itself turns. Without faith, people drift into fear, anxiety, hopelessness, and spiritual emptiness. But with genuine faith in God, life takes on purpose, strength, endurance, and eternal meaning.

This book takes readers on a journey through the Scriptures, examining the lives of great men and women of faith from both the Old and New Testaments. From Nehemiah rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls under pressure, to Daniel standing firm in Babylon, to the faith of the centurion, Zacchaeus, the Canaanite woman, and the Apostle Paul during violent storms, the book demonstrates how faith transforms ordinary people facing extraordinary challenges.

What makes this book unique is its practical and personal approach. Faith is not presented merely as a theological concept, but as something lived out daily through suffering, perseverance, obedience, hope, love, and trust in God. The book openly addresses real-life struggles—illness, fear, disappointment, loss, temptation, and uncertainty—and shows how God uses even life’s crucibles to refine and strengthen faith.

As a physician who has personally endured numerous health trials, the author brings authenticity and compassion to these pages. Readers will find encouragement in knowing that suffering can deepen faith rather than destroy it. The book also explains how faith grows through Scripture, prayer, humility, endurance, and a deeper understanding of God’s grace through Jesus Christ.

Throughout the book, readers will discover that Christianity is not ultimately about religious works or outward performance. It is about a relationship with God built through faith in Christ. The themes of grace, salvation, forgiveness, and the transforming love of God are woven throughout every chapter.

This book is ideal for Christians seeking spiritual encouragement, Bible study groups, new believers wanting to understand faith more deeply, or anyone walking through difficult seasons of life. Each chapter includes Bible discussion questions to encourage reflection and personal application.

Faith: The Door Hinge of Life reminds readers that faith is not merely believing that God exists—it is trusting Him completely with every part of life. In a world filled with uncertainty and confusion, this book points people back to the unchanging faithfulness of God and the hope found in Jesus Christ.

The books in the Proverbs for Kids series are easy to navigate with enlarged pictures that accompany the associated Proverbs. God is the greatest storyteller, and throughout the Bible he uses creative and inspiring ways to help us learn Biblical truths. He often uses the “things of this world” such as clouds, the sun, oceans, darkness, deserts, light, the wind, water, earthly creatures, parts of the human body, and everyday things around the house (to name a few!) to teach us eternal truths. In the Old Testament, God teaches us his timeless wisdom from the Book of Proverbs. In the New Testament, Jesus tells numerous stories, called parables, to help teach deep spiritual lessons. He uses common concepts such as farming, money, fig trees, soil, doors, and fishing to teach important life lessons. The practical teachings contained in Proverbs were inspired by God and given to mankind over 2,000 years ago. The book was written around 920 B.C. primarily by King Solomon. According to the Bible, he was the wisest man who has ever lived. While 920 B.C. was a long time ago, his teaching principles still hold true for today!

Mnemonics for Medicine Differential Diagnoses and Other Pearls For Providers and Students Seeing Adult Patients

This 5.5 x 8 inch updated medical text is excellent for clinic or hospital rounds. The sheer volume of facts to learn and memorize in the study of Medicine can be daunting. Double boarded in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Gullberg has been teaching clinical medicine to students for over 30 years (Medical, Physician Assistant, and Nursing) and it is not unusual for us to deal with 25 different diagnoses while on daily hospital rounds.

Winner of numerous preceptor awards, he teaches the students the importance of having a “differential diagnosis” of a medical problem at their fingertips. The book contains over 200 “easy to recall” mnemonics and other practical charts that will aid the reader in grasping important lists of differential diagnoses regarding medical problems. He has chosen the most common internal medicine problems in 13 main categories.

Mnemonics are extremely useful in learning the details of medicine, especially when there are “lists of key causes” to remember. These lists are often on written and clinical exams and medical board tests (such as National Boards, Recertification exams, and PANCE), so it is incumbent on the student to know them well. Each mnemonic has an associated picture which will help the reader to visually engrain it. A 'keypoint' is included with each mnemonic for emphasis. He has included his “Triples, Tetrads, and Pentads” and other charts to help the reader to review numerous ‘pearls of medicine.'

Proverbs for Kids and those who love them How God Teaches Wisdom Using parts of the human body

Proverbs for Kids are a series of four devotional books covering over 100 proverbs designed specifically to teach children Biblical truths in a fun, easy, and entertaining way. These easy-to-grasp concepts captivate the imagination and help kids understand important truths in a language they can understand. What's more is both kids and adults who read to them will enjoy these informative and colorful books. These books are especially good for kids between the ages of 5 and 11. This particular volume in the series shows how God uses 22 Parts of the Human Body to help explain foundational spiritual truths. As a medical doctor, I am especially interested in our bodies and how they work. When we look at the wonder of our bodies, we see the hand of an incredible Inventor- God himself. Psalms 139:13-14 says this: "For you God created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." The three other books in this series are about Things in Nature, Earthly Creatures, and Things Around the House.

Each of the four books in the series contain Teachable Truths and the Take Home Points to explain the proverb(s) in more detail. There are Other Key Verses from the Bible to reinforce the point of the proverb. Many of these key verses of scripture serve as great memory verses!

With so many difficult challenges we face to raise godly children in today's upside down culture, it is important to introduce them from a young age to God who loves them dearly is an important priority. Learning about God together is the right way to go and will enhance our family relationships even more.

As you read through Proverbs and view the pictures in this book, you will be able to picture yourself growing up in Israel during Bible times to see how God used Parts of the Human Body to teach his wisdom. That wisdom is the same today as it was yesterday. Through the Holy Spirit, may God use this book to draw many young hearts and minds toward understanding his spiritual truth and right ways of living. I hope these inspirational books will be a great adventure for you.

God is the greatest storyteller, and throughout the Bible he uses creative and inspiring ways to help us learn Biblical truths. He often uses the "things of this world" such as clouds, the sun, light, darkness, deserts, oceans, the wind, water, animals, other earthly creatures, parts of the human body and simple, everyday things around the house (to name just a few!) to teach us eternal truths. In the Old Testament, God teaches us his timeless wisdom from the Book of Proverbs. Then in the New Testament, Jesus tells numerous stories, called parables, to help teach deep spiritual lessons. The practical teachings contained in Proverbs were inspired by God to mankind over 2,000 years ago. Successful Trading in the Stock Market made Simple

There are several goals of this book. After you read it thoroughly, more than once, you will start to see how you can trade the stock market without emotion. You don’t have to be a professional to make a nice profit from the market. YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL IF YOU LISTEN to the principles about key INDICATORS presented in this book.

We will review the Russell, Nasdaq, DOW, and the S&P markets. Commodities will be discussed also. This book IS NOT about OPTION trading, futures, or teaching candlestick patterns.

To put it simply, I will:
Give historical review of stock market returns over the years……certainly the last 20 years.
Look at monthly, weekly, daily, and even shorter time frame charts, and discuss percentage returns of each. With experience, you can “Time the Market” in the big picture…..no matter what they say. You can find trends.
Show you the INDICATOR signals for buying LONG and going SHORT in each Market, and why a buy and hold mentality doesn’t always work (it did in the 1990s).
Give advice on what I like to trade.
Show you that you don’t have to rely on another person (usually a broker, or financial advisor) to “take care of” your retirement account.
You will get trading tips on what are good stocks to buy.
My methods of Market Timing have already proven themselves over the years- time and time again. It has been a labor of enjoyment to figure it out.
What started as a hobby has become a journey.
I’m far from a professional, but I can tell you that I’ve put many hours into this hobby.
This book will help you tremendously to becoming a successful trader!

From St. Andrews to Royal Troon A Week of Golfing Glory A GUIDE TO PLAYING SEVEN CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF COURSES IN SCOTLAND

Every golfer dreams of Scotland. Not just because it's the birthplace of the game, but because it represents something deeper—tradition, authenticity, and a connection to the essence of golf. For eight of us, that dream became reality in a warm and beautiful mid-August. The anticipation? Unmatched. The excitement? Palpable. And the stories? Well, they started before a single tee was placed in the ground.
We came to Scotland with oversized bags and oversized dreams. We left as something else—maybe not pros, but certainly pilgrims. In the span of one unforgettable August week, we walked the windswept fairways of golf’s holy land: Turnberry, Prestwick, Royal Troon, Carnoustie, Gullane, North Berwick, Old St. Andrews, and Kingsbarns. Each course had its own personality—some elegant, some brutal, some downright mischievous (looking at you, Carnoustie). And all of them, without exception, whispered back to us with the spirit of the game.
It wasn’t just about the golf. It was the total immersion. For one week, we unplugged—no phones, no laptops, no emails. The only messages we received were from caddies in thick accents and the occasional seagull dive-bombing us on the course. We weren't checking calendars; we were checking wind direction. Our office was the links, our meetings happened on the tee box, and our only notifications were birdies—both the kind you make and the kind that steal your chips.

Common Expressions of the 1960_s, 70_s, & 80_s Volume 2 Written by a Boomer

Volume I proved quite popular, especially among Baby Boomers. As fate would have it, after its publication, my siblings and I continued reminiscing and uncovered another three hundred colorful phrases from the past that deserved to be remembered.

This book is Volume II of Momisms and Dadisms, an expansion of an additional 315 new entries to the 212 gathered in the first edition. Collectively, they capture the humor, wisdom, and everyday truths of an entire generation, one phrase at a time. I believe every Boomer will treasure these expressions, handed down to us during our formative years by our parents and others from that remarkable era.

Language has always been more than the literal arrangement of words. It is an art form, a vessel of meaning that can comfort, provoke, disguise, or inspire. Among the countless ways expressions work, three forms—aphorism, euphemism, and idiom—stand out because of their persistence across cultures and generations. My parents, like many others, used all three in their everyday speech. Each serves a distinct purpose, but together they reveal how creative expression shapes human conversation.

Baited the Lure of the fishing life

If you have a passion for recreational fishing like I do, you will thoroughly enjoy this book. It features over twenty-four captivating short stories from my lifelong personal fishing adventures, dating back to when I was just four years old. Though there are many others, these true stories, each offer a unique perspective on fishing, exploring not only the thrill of the catch but also the many other aspects that make the experience so special. From the excitement of preparing for a fishing trip to unforgettable journeys to remote locations like northern Saskatchewan or Lake Erie, this book captures the essence of what makes fishing such a cherished pastime. Whether you're a seasoned angler or simply appreciate a good outdoor adventure, these stories will resonate with you. If you want to know the fishing brain of the author, read on…………..
I love fishing. There is nothing I’d rather be doing. If I wasn’t a doctor, I’d be a fishing guide. The pull of the water, the rhythm of casting, the anticipation of a strike, the allure of finding where the fish are “hitting” on a lake, the tugging fish on the line--it’s a lifelong passion that has shaped who I am. Fishing isn’t just a hobby; it’s a way of life, a deep connection to nature, and a never-ending pursuit of both tranquility and excitement.
For 50 years, since the age of four, I have fished everywhere I could—from a small homemade pond in the suburbs of Chicago to the remote northern forests of Saskatchewan, the pristine lakes of northern Wisconsin, the west shore of Lake Erie, Lake Michigan, and the vast oceans of the Pacific off Mexico and the Caribbean Sea near the Bahamas. No matter where I cast a line, the thrill remains the same. I love the chase, the unpredictability of what might be lurking below, and the sheer joy of being on the water.
More than just the catch, I cherish the camaraderie—sharing these moments with my sons, my dad, my brother, my daughter, my wife, or lifelong friends. Fishing is in my blood, my breath, my soul. I have gulped it my entire life, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
This book tells twenty personal, short stories of how I have been “baited” for good.

Take two Psalms....and call me in the morning God’s Prescription for Daily Wellness

Having a problem with worrying, depression, anger, addiction, life changes, fear, guilt, loneliness, PTSD, sickness, stress, burnout, or moral failure? Then this book is for you. Essentially, it is a book of God’s prescription from Psalms in response to life’s struggles. The Great Physician wants to be your prime source of hope to help you cope with pain and difficulties. “Take two Aspirins and call me in the morning” was a popular saying used by physicians well over 100 years ago. On March 6, 1899, acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), was patented by Bayer & Co. in Germany under the trade name “Aspirin”. It’s still one of the most highly used medications world-wide. It’s active ingredient, salicin, has been used for centuries to alleviate pain and fever. Even the famous Greek physician Hippocrates (460-370 B.C.) was known to have used it. There’s an alternative plan for wellness besides aspirin or other medical treatments-- redirecting the old standard of therapy of our problems is the theme of this book. Take Two Psalms and call me in the morning addresses health problems that are common in clinical practice. God wants us to go to Him first, with an honest and open heart. He is the most caring Physician in our lives. He desires to work in us through our weaknesses, which can be magnified when we carry mental stress. He allows us to walk through these experiences so that we can learn to turn our faces toward Him. It is not that doctors, counseling, friends, and medications (natural or not) can’t be beneficial. It’s just important that we consider what God has to say about our problems. Don’t leave God out of our healing equation. Many people may ask, “How can reading a Psalm help me more than medication for my problem?” To answer, we must understand first that most of the Psalms are prayers to God. The Bible teaches us that God pays as much attention to the person praying to him as the words that are read, meditated on or spoken. God wants a deep relationship with us, his adopted children. He wants to guide us and answer our prayers that we direct to him. Jesus teaches us in John 16:24, “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” One of the most exciting things about the Christian life is the knowledge that when we pray, God is listening. Our Father is delighted when we come to him with our petitions and concerns, and the book of Psalms is rich with examples of how to pray wholeheartedly. I am not a psychologist, professional counselor, or psychiatrist but I have been a practicing clinical physician and have cared for thousands of patients for over 30 years. Every day I see the daily mental and physical obstacles people face in their lives. Rather than pills, herbs, and therapy, I hope Going to God First will become the primary prescription for many of the battles you face. His prescription never fails. God has answers for your problems that will change your life for the better and help to transform you, body, mind, and spirit. He may direct you to healthcare professionals, a new diet, exercise, medication, or therapy to aid you in your journey to wellness. Your journey of good health begins with him. Psalms for Wellness is the second section of this book which will draw you closer to God. King David knew God extremely well. He ascribed to God over 100 attributes. God will reveal insights into his character from Psalms that will give you a glimpse of his glory. Use the second section of the book as a source for individual or corporate prayer.

Greatest Wonders of the World Study Guide

From a very young age, I have marveled at both the limitlessness of outer space and the miracle of Earth that we have been fortunate enough to inhabit. With the passing years, I have also developed a deep fascination with the intricate wonders of the human body. As a medical doctor, I have cared for thousands of patients for over thirty-five years and witnessed the oft-times automatic function of the human body. It is so astounding, just like the universe, that I am compelled to describe it for you in this book.
I will discuss the origins and intricacies of the universe, solar system, Earth, life forms, and human race, and why evidence is compatible with an intelligent design. When I use the term, “intelligent design”, I mean the theory that an intelligent and a higher power created the universe and its complex life forms, and that natural, random causes alone cannot explain fully them. There are complicated features of the universe and living things and they are best explained by an intelligent cause, which is usually assumed to be God. This worldwide concept will be discussed later in the book.

Harvest of the Heart Cultivating a Life of Lasting Abundance A Biblical Journey Toward Living Fully in God’s Grace

Do you want to live a life filled with not only purpose but also abundance? Then this book is for you.
In every generation, believers wrestle with the meaning of a life well-lived. We chase success, strive for comfort, and measure ourselves by the abundance of our possessions. Yet, as the author beautifully reminds us, abundance in God’s economy is not about accumulation—it’s about transformation. This book, Harvest of the Heart:Cultivating a Life of Lasting Abundance, leads readers through the timeless wisdom of Proverbs and the words of Christ, offering a fresh understanding of what it means to thrive in righteousness, generosity, and grace.

Dr. Robert M. Gullberg’s reflections are both scriptural and profoundly practical. Drawing from years of study, teaching, and life experience, he invites us to view abundance not as the goal of faith but as the fruit of faithful living. His insights challenge the materialism of our age and guide us toward a richer, more purposeful life anchored in the heart of God.

As you read these pages, may you discover that true abundance is not measured by what you hold in your hands but by what overflows from your heart.

Ecclesiastes Chasing the Wind Finding Meaning in a World that Never Satisfies

In a world filled with noise, distraction, anxiety, and endless striving, the ancient book of Ecclesiastes speaks with startling honesty and timeless relevance. In Ecclesiastes: Chasing the Wind — Finding Meaning in a World That Never Satisfies, readers are taken on a deeply practical and devotional journey through one of the Bible’s most fascinating books. This book reviews the twelve chapters of Ecclesiastes, practically applies the principles to your life, and included study questions after each chapter.

Written from the perspective of King Solomon—the wisest and wealthiest man who ever lived—Ecclesiastes wrestles with the same questions people still ask today:

Why do success and possessions fail to satisfy?
Why does life sometimes seem unfair?
Why do people feel empty even after achieving their dreams?
What truly gives life meaning?

This book carefully walks chapter-by-chapter through Ecclesiastes in a way that is highly readable, encouraging, and practical for everyday life. Rather than presenting dry theology or academic analysis, it speaks directly to ordinary people who are searching for peace, purpose, and direction in a confusing world.

Readers will explore topics such as:

pleasure and entertainment

work and burnout

anxiety and uncertainty

friendship and loneliness

wisdom and foolishness

wealth and contentment

aging, death, and eternity

and ultimately, how to live a meaningful life centered on God

Throughout the book, Solomon’s reflections are connected to modern struggles including social media comparison, stress, busyness, materialism, and the constant pressure to achieve more. Each chapter also includes thoughtful “Digging Deeper” discussion questions with Bible verses, making the book ideal for personal devotions, small groups, Bible studies, or church classes.

What makes Ecclesiastes so powerful is its honesty. It does not pretend life is easy. It openly addresses disappointment, injustice, sorrow, and the temporary nature of earthly success. Yet through all of it, Solomon points readers toward a deeper truth:

Life apart from God will always feel incomplete.

This book offers hope to weary people who feel like they are endlessly “chasing the wind.” It reminds readers that true meaning is not found in possessions, pleasure, status, or accomplishment—but in knowing God, enjoying His gifts, and living wisely with eternity in view.

If you have ever asked, “What is the purpose of life?”—this book was written for you.

Proverbs for Kids and those who love them Volume2 How God Teaches Wisdom Using parts of the human body

Go to ProverbsforKidsamazon.com to see all of them. These easy-to-grasp concepts captivate the imagination and help kids understand important truths in a language they can understand. These books are especially good for kids between the ages of 5 and 11. This volume in the series shows how God uses parts of the human body to help explain foundational spiritual truths. As a medical doctor, I am especially interested in our bodies and how they work. When we look at the wonder of our bodies, we see the hand of an incredible Inventor- God himself. Psalms 139:13-14 says this: “For you God created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well.” The other books in this series are about things in nature, earthly creatures, and things around the house.God is the greatest storyteller, and throughout the Bible he uses creative and inspiring ways to help us learn Biblical truths. He often uses the “things of this world” such as clouds, the sun, light, darkness, deserts, oceans, the wind, water, animals, other earthly creatures, parts of the human body and simple, everyday things around the house (to name just a few!) to teach us eternal truths. In the Old Testament, God teaches us his timeless wisdom from the Book of Proverbs. Then in the New Testament, Jesus tells numerous stories, called parables, to help teach deep spiritual lessons. He uses common concepts such as farming, money, fig trees, soil, doors, and fishing to teach important life lessons. The practical teachings contained in Proverbs were inspired by God to mankind over 2,000 years ago. The book was written around 920 B.C., primarily by King Solomon, the wisest man who has ever lived, according to the Bible. While that’s a long time ago, his teaching principles still “hold” for today!

More Than Our Gifts

This engaging, visually rich children's book takes readers on a journey through the biblical significance of the gifts given to Jesus at birth--gold, frankincense, and myrrh. How did these gifts foreshadow Jesus Christ's mission on Earth? From his humble birth in Bethlehem to the ultimate sacrifice on the cross, More Than Our Gifts unveils the deeper truths hidden within a well-known story.

Gold for a king, yet Jesus wore a crown of thorns. Frankincense for the aroma of worship, yet Jesus became the ultimate offering and aroma to God. Myrrh for perfume and burial, yet Jesus rose from the dead and didn't need burial. With stunning illustrations and a fresh perspective, this children's book brings biblical history to life in a way that's accessible for all ages. Discover how God's love outweighs any treasure we could ever give--and how his gift of Jesus is the only one that lasts forever.

God’s Big Plan Finding Jesus before Bethlehem

With simple words and colorful illustrations, this book helps children discover how the Bible tells one beautiful story—leading to Jesus’s life in the New Testament. Each page helps children see how Jesus was always part of God’s Big Plan, from the very beginning—way before he was born as a baby in a manger. This book will take you on a journey through the Old Testament, showing 16 amazing ways that Jesus was talked or hinted about—even though he hadn’t been born yet, and his name wasn’t mentioned. Through stories, God gave pictures of our Savior who was to come and live many years later.
The Bible has two big parts—one is called the Old Testament, and the other is the New Testament. The Old Testament tells how God made the world and chose a special group of people called the Israelites. He gave them loving rules to help them live the right way and stay close to him. The Old Testament has many exciting stories about people like Adam and Eve, Noah, Moses, David, Solomon, Ruth, Jonah, and Isaiah—and it hints at someone very special who would be later be coming to earth —Jesus Christ. The New Testament begins with the birth of that special person—Jesus! It tells how Jesus came to show God’s love and made a way for us to be close to God forever. So, the Old Testament points forward to Jesus, and the New Testament tells us all about him!

Reality Stories of Medicine Things About Patient Care You Don_t Learn at School

This e-book is intended for healthcare providers at any level, students or
practitioners. It contains six chapters of "real life" medical stories with
over 300 observations learned from the day to day life of a practicing
internist and subspecialist. Dr. Gullberg is a physician who has been
accumulating knowledge about patient care for three decades and spends all
of his time daily taking care of patients in the office and hospital, as
well as teaching medical students at all levels. The chapters include: 1)
Office or Hospital: Patient observations 2) Views on family members of
patients 3) Views on the healthcare provider 4) General views on healthcare
5) Patient and provider interaction, and 6) Paramedical observations. Some
of the viewpoints are sobering, some are humorous, some are soul searching,
and some are downright surprising. Many of the stories just give plain,
sound advice. With short and easily readable vignettes, this book will help
you navigate for the years ahead. This e-book is meant to be a pragmatic
look at patient care. It represents a best effort to provide a much-needed
book on the realities of patient care and issues in day to day medical life.
The genuine day to day practice of medicine is a long way from medical
school, PA/NP school, and internship or residency. Some students may say,
"Why should I read this? How will this book help me run a code blue? Don't I
need to just read medical journals?" That attitude misses the point. Soon
after one starts their career in patient care, one will find that the
practice of medicine is far more than an academic pursuit. A general
understanding of these real life observations will serve medical students
and healthcare providers well for the future.

Footsteps in the Himalayas A Medical Mission Among the Marginalized in Northern India

This book is an adventure—an honest, unfiltered journey into the heart of rural, northern India, seen through the wide-eyed wonder of a fourth-year medical student stepping into a world far beyond his own. Set in northern India and then the foothills of the majestic Himalayas, at Herbertpur Christian Hospital, it’s a story of action, faith, challenge, and growth, told with humility, humor, and a deep sense of purpose. It’s my personal journal.
You’ll follow me and my friend Eric, both senior medical students at the University of Illinois, as we navigate the often chaotic and unpredictable life of mission hospitals. We encounter cases that stretch us to our limits—patients in desperate need, limited resources, and situations where medical textbooks sometimes have to suffice when help is far away. Each day in India brings something unexpected, from joyous moments to gut-wrenching decisions, all of it grounded in a desire to serve and learn.
And let’s be honest—sometimes, survival depended on a little more than a half-decent cup of chai, a strong stomach, and a whole lot of grace. From power outages to monkeys stealing our lunch, and the occasional, "Wait... that is a medical procedure?" moment, the experience was never dull. You’ll find yourself laughing, wincing, and maybe even wondering how we ever made it back in one piece.
This isn’t just a medical memoir. It’s also a reflection on faith, calling, and the universal human experience of suffering, healing, and hope. It’s filled with journal entries that capture my raw thoughts and emotions, offering a personal window into the highs and lows of life on the medical frontlines.
You’ll laugh, you’ll learn, and you’ll see the world through a new lens. Whether you’re in the medical field, exploring your faith, or simply loving a good adventure, this book will take you on a journey you won’t forget—one that reminds us that no matter where we are, the calling to love and serve is always worth answering.

Common Expressions of the 1960_s, 70_s, and 80_s. Over 200 Momisms and Dadisms As told by a Boomer

Mom and Dad left some indelible imprints on our young brains. As me and my siblings were growing up, it was impossible not to notice the way Mom and Dad spoke, with phrases and expressions that seemed to echo in our daily lives. Their words became woven into the fabric of our own speech, shaping how we communicate today. It wasn't just what they said, but how they said it—those familiar sayings, words, jokes, and even stern reminders that always seemed to carry a deeper meaning. These aphorisms, idioms, and euphemisms were not unique to just my mother and father. They were used by other boomer parents, and many of them were likely learned from their parents a few generations back as well.
Whether it was "It’s not the end of the world," when something went wrong, or "It’ll all pan out," when we faced the consequences of our actions, those verbal expressions were more than just words—they were life lessons in a few carefully chosen phrases. As we grew older, we realized many of these expressions may have been passed down from their parents (like Mum, our grandmother), perhaps not as explicitly as they might have told us, but certainly through the repetition of these sayings. The cadence of their voices, the slight shifts in tone when they uttered a particularly familiar phrase, all became part of our own vocabulary.
Whether you grew up hearing “It takes a village” or “The nail that sticks out gets hammered down,” the deeper truth is that language is a living legacy. It evolves, generation by generation, sometimes fading into obscurity—like “Heavens to Murgatroyd”—and sometimes enduring as evergreen reminders of life’s little lessons.
This book has been a tribute to that legacy. It’s a celebration of the words that made us smile, the wisdom that shaped us, and the family that we continue to cherish. From Chicago Cubs games to family dinners and Sunday drives, every phrase we repeat is like a breadcrumb trail back to where we came from. Some stuck, many didn’t—even though they are remembered dearly.
So, as you flip through these pages—or better yet, as you share your own family’s sayings with the next generation—remember: it’s not just about the words themselves, but the stories they tell, the people they remind us of, and the love they carry. In the end, expressions are more than just clever turns of phrase. They’re the echoes of our families’ voices—passed down, cherished, and, I hope, never forgotten.

The Two Year Spark how Hobbies keep you brain young

Why you should read this book
A Personal Note from Dr. Robert M. Gullberg
Why New Hobbies Matter Now More Than Ever after age 40:
If you’re reading this, you’re likely wondering whether trying something new at your stage in life is worth it. Maybe you raised a family of kids and “they were your hobby for years”. Maybe you had a long career and worked hard and never thought about hobbies.
Let me be direct: Yes, it absolutely is worth it. As your physician and someone who’s seen many thousands of patients across decades, I’ve noticed a powerful pattern—those who regularly explore new hobbies age better, think sharper, and feel more alive.
Too many people, especially after age 50, drift into routines after retirement that never change. Routines provide stability, yes—but stagnation steals vitality. The brain needs novelty and challenge to stay young. Without it, mental decline creeps in faster than most realize. I’ve had patients tell me, “I’m too old,” “I don’t have time,” or “I’ve never been creative.” My response? No more excuses. Trudging across the country to see your new grandchildren doesn’t cut it as a new hobby! You can learn something new. You must.
This book isn’t just information—it’s an invitation. Every two years, you should adopt a new hobby--again. Not to pass the time, but to stretch your mind, uplift your mood, spark social connection, and keep your brain from settling into neutral. Whether it’s painting, hiking, cooking, woodworking, or learning the piano, I challenge you to pick something—and start.
Your mind, your health, and your joy depend on it. Let’s get at it.

The 180˚Mindset Changing your attitudes -with the Beatitudes, A Study of the Beatitudes is a fresh, powerful look at the Beatitudes—Jesus’ radical teachings that flip the world’s values upside down. The book is divided into five, central teachings with accompanying Bible studies for group discussion or individual contemplation. With insight drawn from decades of Bible teaching, the author—who has written over 20 books on the Christian faith—offers practical, heart-level reflections to challenge and inspire. Whether you’re seeking personal growth or deeper faith, this book will help you walk the narrow path of Christ. It’s not just a book—it’s a life-changing perspective shift.

Greatest Wonders of the World from outer space to inner space

From a young age, I have been captivated by the vastness of outer space and the incredible miracle of Earth, our home. Over the years, my fascination has deepened with the remarkable complexities of the human body. As a medical doctor, I have cared for thousands of patients over the decades, witnessing the often automatic yet astonishing functions of the human body. Its wonders, much like those of the universe, inspire me to share my insights with you in this book.

This book explores the beliefs about the origins of the world, examining everything from the universe and solar system to the intricacies of cellular DNA. This book will inspire a sense of wonder and awe about the marvels of creation. It also investigates the ongoing debate between evolution and intelligent design.

Science is intricately woven into the fabric of the universe, serving as a tool to understand its mysteries and phenomena. Through observation and experimentation, scientists unravel the laws that govern celestial bodies, from the Sun to the Milky Way Galaxy, and beyond. Physics explains the forces at play, while chemistry reveals the building blocks of matter (atoms and molecules), including the elements that compose stars and planets. This scientific inquiry not only enhances our knowledge of the universe but also deepens our appreciation for its complexity and interconnectedness, illustrating how every aspect of the cosmos is governed by fundamental principles. With forty years of experience in medical science and a college major in chemistry, I am well-equipped to author this book and discuss topics ranging from the universe and solar system to Earth, life forms, and the intricacies of the human body.

I will explore the origins and complexities of the universe, solar system, Earth, life forms, the human race, and the human body, highlighting how the evidence aligns with the concept of intelligent design. By "intelligent design," I refer to the theory that a higher intelligence played a role in creating the universe and its intricate life forms, suggesting that natural, random processes alone cannot fully account for their existence.

Death in Disguise how Germs took down the great and powerful
